Species description: TheJapanese Zelkova is a low branching deciduous tree native to Japan. Fall color can vary and is dependent on the growing environment. Develops ramification very well, responding well to being cut back- making it a great species for bonsai.
Specimen description: This Zelkova has been root worked and has an excellent nebari. It has three primary branches, from which the broom style that Zelkovas are known for can be developed. Lower branches have been left to use for sacrificial thickening.
USDA zones: 5-8
Light requirements: Full sun.
Watering requirements: Keep moist, do not let fully dry.
