Species description: Well known for its medicinal properties, AmericanWitch Hazel is a deciduous small tree native to the eastern United States. In the fall, leaves will turn a clear yellow and once dropped, the tree will produce spider-like fringed yellow flowers. The flowers provide winter interest and the species responds well to pruning/back budding, making it a great choice for bonsai. Interestingly, this species can launch its seed up to 30 feet through a process called ballistic dispersal!

Light requirements: Partial to Full sun.
Watering requirements: Keep moist, do not let fully dry.
Size: Tree growth is approximately 9” in height, potted in a 3.5”x5” square pot.
