About: Native to Colorado, this xeric species bursts with 12” tall bright yellow flowers in spring that fade to rust in the fall. This plant works great left in a garden bed to spread as a low growing ground cover, or potted up as an accent plant for a bonsai display.

Planting: When dormant, plant in the ground any time of year, or overwinter properly. Dig a hole twice the size of the pot, backfill with soil, gently press the new soil surrounding the plant and water thoroughly. Add mulch for added winter protection, moisture retention and to amend the soil. Water regularly during the first grow season to help the plant establish.

USDA zones: 3-8
