Only 1 left in stock

About: This Sarracenia has tall, elegant pitchers that range in color from green to deep red or maroon, often with veins and spotting; lid (operculum) relatively small and sometimes slightly hooded.

Size: Tall, narrow, tubular pitchers up to (12–24 in) depending on conditions.

Light requirements: Full sun

Watering requirements: Keep moist sitting in a tray of water outside, never allowing to dry out.

Temperature & Humidity: Hardy to USDA zones roughly 6–9 depending on provenance; tolerates warm summers and cool winters with a period of dormancy. Protect from prolonged hard freezes in marginal zones. Appreciates moderate to high humidity but will grow in average garden humidity if other needs are met.

Dormancy: Requires a winter dormancy of cooler temperatures (typically 35–50°F / 2–10°C) and reduced light. In its native climate this is natural; potted plants may need cooler placement in winter (unheated greenhouse, cool garage, or outdoors where safe).

Shipping: Oregon and Washington state customers, please read our shipping policies. This plant may ship dormant.

Conservation note: Nursery-propagated stock at our nursery in Colorado Springs, CO.
